TEHRAN - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday vowed that Iran would not back down "one inch" on its nuclear programme amid Western pressure for the Islamic republic to suspend uranium enrichment.
"Iran will not step back one inch from its legal rights. It will continue along its path with glory," Ahmadinejad said in a speech in the city of Nazarabad, outside Tehran.
"The Iranian people are currently the dearest people in the world. They are the most powerful people in the world," he added.
