MUGLA - It was reported on Monday that number of foreign tourists visiting Mugla and its environs reached 2,174,188 by the end of September.
M. Temel Kocaklar, Governor of Mugla, declared in a written statement that, via air or sea way, more than 2 million tourists reached the region which is home to leading tourism hubs like Marmaris, Fethiye and Bodrum and 2 international airports in Dalaman, Milas and Bodrum.
Kocaklar also stated that the vivacity in the tourism sector still continued and they expected to reach last year's tourist numbers shortly.
According to the statement, British tourists ranked the first with 933 thousand 991 visitors among the foreign tourists coming to the region via air or sea way.
Mugla and its region, renowned for blue cruises and yacht tourism as well, have a total capacity of nearly 250 thousand beds.
