Babacan Leaves For Mexico To Attend G-20 Ministers Meeting

ISTANBUL - State Minister Ali Babacan left for Morelia, Mexico on Friday to attend G-20 Ministers meeting.
Speaking at a news conference at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, Babacan said the countries would be represented by ministers and central bank governors in G-20 summit.
Babacan said globalization, problems stemming from sources of global economic growth, preventing and solving crises, fight against finance of terrorism, supporting transparency and exchange of information and strategic priorities of G-20 in the future would be taken up in the G-20 Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting on October 26.
Babacan said he would later proceed on October 28 from Morelia to New York to attend a meeting entitled ''High-Level Dialogue on Financing for Development''.
State Minister Babacan said following the meeting, he would also participate in the 7th round table meeting on ''the link between the progress in the implementation of the agreements and commitments reached at the International Conference on Financing for Development and the promotion of sustainable development, sustained economic growth and the eradication of poverty with a view to achieving an equitable global economic system'' of ''High-Level Dialogue on Financing for Development'' meeting in New York on October 29.
Babacan said he would meet with some ministers in Mexico and the United States during his visit.
He said the issues that would be discussed at the meetings would be very important for Turkey which progresses with resolved steps on the way to set up a healthy economic structure for Turkey.
Babacan said bilateral meetings would constitute an opportunity for promotion of Turkey's economic program.
Central Bank Governor Sureyya Serdengecti, Deputy Governor of Central Bank Erdem Basci and Treasury Deputy Undersecretary Burhanettin Aktas also left for Mexico.
