Weston Meets With Officials Of Political Parties In Northern Cyprus

LEFKOSA - U.S. State Department's Coordinator for Cyprus Thomas Weston started on Friday to meet with officials of some political parties in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Weston, accompanied by U.S. Ambassador in Greek Cypriot side Michael Klasson, firstly met with Ilker Nevzat and Suha Turkoz of National Unity Party (UBP).
No statement was released prior to the meeting.
Weston will later meet with officials of Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Peace and Democracy Movement (BHD), Solution and European Union Party (CABP) and Democrat Party (DP).
Thomas Weston will meet with TRNC Presidential Undersecretary Ergun Olgun during lunch.
TRNC President Denktas had earlier announced that he would not meet with Weston and said, ''Weston has gone too far.''
