ANKARA - Foreign Trade Undersecretary Tuncer Kayalar said on Thursday that Turkey-Libya 19th Term Joint Economic Commission (JEC) Meeting would be held in December after seven years of interval.
Kayalar released a statement that a Libyan delegation would visit Turkey in December and the JEC meeting would be held.
His visit to Libya between October 20-22 was very fruitful, Kayalar said.
Kayalar noted that he and Libyan deputy prime minister decided to improve all relations between two countries from trade to contracting services, from investments to industry and tourism.
A crowded businessmen's delegation headed by State Minister Kursad Tuzmen was expected to visit Libya in January of 2004, Kayalar stated.
Kayalar pointed out that he and Libyan deputy prime minister agreed to start talks between two countries to prevent double taxation, reciprocal encouragement of investments and signing of preferential trade agreement.
They decided to establish Foreign Trade Council which would help regular meetings of Turkish and Libyan private sectors, Kayalar said.
Kayalar noted that two countries would immediately begin technical talks to overcome problems coming from history, adding that those talks would be completed till JEC meeting.
