ANKARA - Bertram Brossardt, Deputy Minister for Foreign Investments of the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs of Germany, and an accompanying delegation visited on Wednesday the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) deputy chairman Faik Yavuz.
Yavuz said that Germany was one of the biggest partners of Turkey with respect to trade volume and recalled that German-Turkish Chamber of Trade and Industry was set up in Istanbul in 1994. He said that the first meeting regarding establishment of Turkish-German Chamber of Trade and Industry was held in Cologne on Wednesday.
Stressing that they wanted to further improve relations with Germany, Yavuz said that they attributed great importance to gain the support of Germany, when they started negotiations with the European Union (EU) in 2004.
Brossardt said that representatives of 25 German companies also participated in this visit and stated that there were companies which did not make any business with Turkey among those.
Stating that positive approach to developments in Turkey was the reason of those companies' visiting Turkey, Brossardt said that those companies searched opportunities for making business with their Turkish partners in the third countries.
