ANKARA - Economic and trade relations were discussed during visit of Foreign Trade Undersecretary Tuncer Kayalar to Ethiopia.
Foreign Trade Undersecretariat issued a written statement and said Kayalar paid a visit to Ethiopia between October 14 and 17, 2003 and inaugurated ''Made In Turkey'' Fair held in Addis Ababa.
Kayalar met senior officials of Ethiopia during the visit and economic and commercial relations were reviewed.
Representatives from around 69 companies and nearly 110 Turkish businessmen acting in automotive, iron-steel, construction equipment, durable goods, foods, textile, chemical industry, and agriculture participated in the fair.
Ethiopian Industry and Trade Ministry, Foreign Capital Authority and Federation of Ethiopian Chambers of Industry and Commerce held a promotion meeting on business and investment environment and potential in Ethiopia.
Turkish businessmen took important orders, signed representation agreements and launched some preliminary meetings on partnership agreements during their meetings with Ethiopian business circles.
The statement said that increasing 44 million U.S. dollars of trade volume which was reached between the two countries in 1998 was assessed during meetings.
It was also decided that Turkish-Ethiopian Foreign Trade Council will be set up as soon as possible during meetings.
