Humanitarian Aid From Red Crescent To Iraq

DUHOK - The convoy carrying humanitarian aid sent by Turkish Red Crescent to Iraq reached Duhok by protection of peshmergas on Monday.
Halil Altinkaya, who heads the convoy told journalists that ''we bring aid to our Iraqi brothers. We passed Iraq from Habur border gate this morning, and we didn't face any problems. The Iraqi Red Crescent team welcomed us in the border gate.''
Altinkaya said that the convoy going to Baghdad continued its way, adding that ''we will distribute the materials to people who need that in an organized way with the Iraqi Red Crescent.''
Peshmergas ensure the safety of the transportation of the convoy which is composed of six big and two small trucks.
The aid which will be given to 2,500 families upon the wish of the Iraqi Health Ministry and Red Crescent, are composed of 500 tents, 5,000 blankets, 2,000 mattress, 500 kerosene heaters, 500 hygienic sets, 500 food packages and 148 packages of medicine and medical equipment worth of 178 billion liras.
The humanitarian aid worth of 519 billion dollars, will be distributed to people by Turkish and Iraqi Red Crescent officials in Baghdad.
