STRASBOURG - The Parliamentary Human Rights Commission delegation headed by Mehmet Elkatmıs listened to the problems of Turkish migrants living in Alsace region of France on Monday.
Nearly 50 associations' representatives in Alsace region of France attended the meeting.
Representatives of associations demanded more teachers and books to be sent to France for education in Turkish and complained of insufficient number of imams.
Elkatmıs said that he would convey all the problems of Turkish citizens when he returns to Ankara, adding that ''our target is to create a transparent state and to take measures for that.''
Elkatmıs stated that the economic situation in Turkey went good, adding that ''when the economic situation gets better, nobody will go abroad to work. On the contrary our workers abroad will start to return to Turkey due to the new business opportunities we will create in the country.''
Elkatmıs and the parliamentary delegation will meet with Council of Europe (COE) Secretary General Walter Schwimmer this evening.
After having contacts with officials of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), the delegation will return to Turkey on Thursday.
Particularly reforms undertaken in Turkey in human rights and democracy will be taken up in the meetings with ECHR and COE officials.
