ANKARA - Turkish authorities warned early this morning (at 3:30 am) the pilot of a plane carrying Iranian ministers and deputies, because the plane tried to fly over Turkish airspace without proper authorization.
Diplomatic sources stated that after the incident the pilot asked to land at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul for refueling.
Sources indicated that after refueling the plane took off for Tehran at 10.00 a.m., adding that the executives at the Iranian embassy in Ankara were notified of the incident.
On the other hand, Iranian administration claimed that the plane was forced to land at Ataturk Airport. They talked to Turkish Ambassador in Tehran Gurcan Turkoglu to express their disturbance over the matter.
However, Iranian officials said that they did not protest Turkey regarding the incident.
