MERSIN - Turkish-Arab Businessmen Association Chairman Mehmet Hadra said on Monday that they would improve economic and social relations with Arab countries.
Speaking to A.A correspondent, Hadra said their association, which was set up on September 17, would help improvement of relations with Arab countries.
Hadra said, ''we founded the association with 11 founder members. We got request from around 50 companies and institutions to be a member of our association.''
Hadra said they targeted to increase commercial relations with Arab countries, which was currently around 10 percent, to 40 percent. We will have cooperation in many areas mainly tourism. We also launch initiatives to improve cooperation between the universities.''
Stating that they were in an effort to provide facilities to their members to improve relations with Arab countries, Hadra said, ''we will try to make our members enter Arab countries without visa.''
Hadra said they were planning to hold a congress in March 2004 in Mersin Province which ambassadors of Arab countries would participate in.
