Labor Ministry, Unicef And Ilo Officials To Meet To Discuss Elimination Of Child Labor

ANKARA - Officials of the Labor and Social Security Ministry, United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and International Labor Organization (ILO) will meet in Kizilcahamam town of Ankara between October 20-21 to discuss elimination of child labor.
Sources said on Saturday that UNICEF Representative to Turkey Edmond McLoughney, Gulay Aslantepe, Director of ILO Office in Turkey, Labor and Social Security Ministry Deputy Undersecretaries Ozer Ozcan and Yilmaz Babul, Labor General Director Cengiz Delibas, officials of the Department of Child Labor, representatives of Labor Inspection Board, 22 regional directors of the Labor and Social Security Ministry, and representatives of National Education Ministry and Social Services and Child Protection Agency would meet in Kizilcahamam between October 20 and 21.
The participants will be informed about the worst conditions of child labor and its reasons, effects of child labor on children, measures to be taken, international conventions signed by Turkey, the new Labor Act, and activities.
