ROME - At least two people were killed and at least 20 hurt when an apartment building collapsed in Milan after an explosion believed to be caused by a gas leak, Italian news agency ANSA reported Monday.
Two children were reported missing and half of the injured were in serious conditions.
Firefighters were working with police and other emergency service crews to extract the injured from the rubble, the agency reported.
The three-story building was located on Via Lomellina, a busy traffic artery on the eastern outskirts of Italy's business capital leading to Linate airport.
Early reports said the two dead were a 69-year-old Italian man and an Albanian passer-by.
