Interior Minister Aksu Returns From Italy To Turkey

ISTANBUL - Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu returned on Saturday from Italy to Turkey.
Aksu told reporters that he participated in the Ministerial Meeting on ''Role of Regions in European Union (EU)'' in Rome which was also attended by representatives of 28 EU member and candidate countries.
The aim of the meeting was to learn views of participants on a ''draft final document'' planned to be signed during the Ministerial Meeting in 2004, Aksu said.
Aksu noted that he told about the public management and local administration reforms in Turkey during his speech in the meeting.
They could not progress with an understanding to solve every problem with the efforts of the central government, Aksu stated.
Aksu noted that Turkey should complete the public management reform as soon as possible.
After it made that reform, Turkey would become a country which contributed more to international community with a rapid economic growth and a full democracy, Aksu added.
