Outflow Of Cash Money More Than 10 Thousand U.S. Dollars From Iraq Is Stopped

ANKARA - State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Friday that they had received news that outflow of cash money more than 10 thousand U.S. dollars from Iraq was stopped.
Replying to questions of reporters, Tuzmen said, ''this is a very wrong decision. Such limitations have negative effect on development of trade.''
Tuzmen noted that the decision should be re-considered and mistake would be corrected in coming days.
Upon a question on problems faced in transfer of goods to Iraq, Tuzmen said that there had been long queues since Habur border gate was closed from time to time.
Tuzmen said that there would be ups and downs in trade as long as chaos and instability continued in Iraq but they would do their best to make easier and more balanced trade in the following term.
Exports from Turkey to Iraq had reached 680 million U.S. dollars, Tuzmen pointed out.
Tuzmen announced that Turkish companies had undertaken projects worth of 230 million U.S. dollars in Iraq.
''It is possible to increase trade if there are not ups and downs. If the trade volume before the war continued, exports from Turkey to Iraq would reach 4 billion U.S. dollars annually,'' Tuzmen added.
