Turkey Favors Increase Of Roles Of Local Administrations

ROME - Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu said on Thursday that Turkey favored increase of roles of local administrations.
Speaking in the Ministerial Meeting on ''The Role of the Regions in the European Union (EU)'', Aksu informed his European colleagues about reforms made and planned to be made in local administrations in Turkey.
Aksu noted that municipalities were democratic administrations which were the closest administration to the nation, stating that they favored increase of roles of local administrations in Turkey.
Public management reform draft law was about to be completed, Aksu pointed out.
Aksu said that the draft would be submitted to parliament soon.
After that draft was approved, arrangements regarding local administrations in Turkey would comply with EU norms.
