The main news items, which the service in English of the Anadolu Agency will cover on October 16, 2003, are as follows:
1- President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul will represent Turkey in the 10th Summit meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Malaysia.
- Sezer will host a luncheon in honor of Malaysian King Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail and then will deliver a speech in general session within the summit.
2- Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will represent Turkey in the European Union (EU) Summit and Intergovernmental Conference in Brussels.
- Erdogan will meet with representatives of Turkish Associations in Brussels.
3- Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu will go to Italy to attend Ministerial Meeting on "The Role of the Regions in the European Union."
