ISTANBUL - Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu Public Administration Reform, which was ready to be presented to Parliament, had an importance that would bring Turkey closer to the European Union (EU) more.
Aksu departed for Italy to attend Ministerial Meeting on "The Role of the Regions in the European Union."
Aksu told reporters prior to his departure at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport that they evaluated such meetings as an appropriate platform to explain Turkey's theses.
Noting that he would have the opportunity to express the importance that the government attributed to EU membership and its determination on this issue during his visit, Aksu said that he would also explain efforts exerted regarding adjustment to Copenhagen criteria.
Aksu said that he would also explain innovations brought by Public Administration Reform which was ready for presentation to Parliament during the meetings.
Aksu said that this reform activity was important as it would bring Turkey closer to the EU.
Aksu said that he would have bilateral meetings and would have opportunity to receive information about local administration structures of countries during his meetings.
