BRUSSELS - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Brussels on Thursday to participate Turkey in European Union (EU) summit and Intergovernmental Conference.
Erdogan is accompanied by his wife Emine and state ministers Ali Babacan and Mehmet Aydin.
In the first section of the summit, the participants will convene in heads of government and state level, and discuss draft constitution prepared by European Convention. Turkey is expected to take place in observer status.
Erdogan is later scheduled to meet with representatives of Turkish associations in Belgium, and visit Schaerbeek region where Turkish people are highly populated.
Erdogan is expected to leave for Spain on Friday after participating in a luncheon aiming at giving information to leaders of candidate leaders following EU summit.
