ANKARA - State Minister Ali Babacan said on Wednesday that Turkey could reach its 5 percent growth rate target very easily.
State Minister Ali Babacan and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Turkey Desk Chief Reza Moghadam held a joint press conference.
Babacan said that Turkey could also easily reach 20 percent inflation rate and even a lower rate.
The government was still determined to reach 6.5 percent of primary surplus target, Babacan stated.
Babacan said that measures which would help Turkey reach the primary surplus target were put into practice one after the other without losing any time.
Decreasing inflation rate to 12 percent and achieving a Gross National Product (GNP) of 5 percent were main targets of the government for 2004, Babacan pointed out.
Babacan said that the budget of 2004 was prepared in line with the 6.5 percent primary surplus target.
The government would be determined to limit public personnel recruitment in 2004, Babacan added.
