Rodin Exhibition Draws 77,000 Visitors to Istanbul Museum

A Rodin sculpture exhibition at the Sakip Sabanci Museum in Istanbul attracted nearly 77,000 visitors over two months, with women making up 61 percent of the audience, curator Nazan Olcer said Thursday.

Among the highlights, Rodin's celebrated sculpture 'The Thinker' proved the most popular with visitors. A monument to French writer Victor Hugo also drew considerable attention after it was placed temporarily in the museum garden, replacing a bronze horse statue.

The museum introduced a notable first for Türkiye by allowing visually impaired visitors to touch select sculptures during the exhibition.

Olcer said the museum is preparing to open a new exhibition titled 'Bogazici' within days. In December, the venue will host 'Genghis Khan and His Heritage,' featuring collections on loan from institutions in Mongolia, Russia, Germany, France, Taiwan, Japan, Iran, and Austria.
