GAZIANTEP - Exports from the southeastern Turkey increased 23.25 percent to 1.4 billion USD in the first eight months of 2006 over the same period of last year.
Southeast Anatolian Exporters' Association (GAIB) officials told the A.A on Thursday that they exported 972.7 million USD of textiles, 287 million USD of grain-cereals, 3.2 million USD of livestock, 72.3 million USD of dried fruits, and 100.2 million USD of other products.
In the same period of last year, exports originating from the southeastern region were 1.1 billion USD, sources recalled.
