ISTANBUL - "Pakistan's support to us is very meaningful and encouraging in a milieu which Greek Cypriot administration increased its isolations to a very high-level. We thank Pakistan," President Mehmet Ali Talat of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) told reporters at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.
Talat visited Pakistan as the formal guest of Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf.
Talat said, "the visit was formal, and Pakistan's unconditional support was expressed by high-level officials."
"We have assessed what can Pakistan's contributions be to lift isolations over TRNC," he added.
Talat expressed pleasure about the results of his visit and said that he would be glad to host Pakistani officials in TRNC.
Talat said that not only Islamic countries but also European countries and the whole world should support Turkish Cypriots' struggle.
