ISTANBUL - Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha attended a luncheon organized by the Turkish-Albanian Business Council in Istanbul on Wednesday.
Delivering a speech at the luncheon, Berisha said that Albanian government has been working to boost investment climate in his country, and they aimed to make Albania the most attractive country for foreign investors in its region.
Berisha added that Turkish and Albanian businessmen should work hard on development of joint projects.
On the other hand, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu noted that trade volume between Turkey and Albania amounted to 207 million USD in 2005, stating that nearly 40 Turkish companies have been operating in Albania with an investment of 114 million USD.
Hisarciklioglu underlined that Turkish companies were eager to take part in privatization in Albania, and that they expected Albanian government to assist Turkish firms regarding this matter.
