BRUSSELS - Turkish State Minister and Chief Negotiator for EU talks Ali Babacan arrived in Brussels, Belgium on Wednesday --the second leg of his tour of the EU.
Babacan had a meeting with Didier Dunfot, Secretary for EU Affairs at the Belgian Foreign Ministry.
Following this meeting, he will meet representatives of Turkish nongovernmental organizations in Brussels.
Babacan will attend a reception to be hosted by Turkish Ambassador in Brussels Fuat Tanlay this evening.
On Thursday, Babacan will attend a screening meeting on Jurisdiction and Basic Rights. Later, Babacan will meet Jan Figel, Commissioner for Education, Training, Culture and Multilingualism.
Minister Babacan will meet Belgian FM Karel De Gucht and Olli Rehn, Commissioner in charge of EU Enlargement, on Thursday. Later the same day, Babacan will meet Charlie McCreevy, Commissioner for Internal Market and Services, and Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Reynders. On Friday, Babacan will meet Michael Leigh, European Commission Director General of Enlargement.
