ANKARA - Turkey's industrial production increased by 9.4 percent in the second quarter of 2006 (April-May-June) compared to the same term last year.
In the same term in 2005, industrial production had increased by 3.1 percent.
Turkish Statistical Board (TUIK) announced the Production Index figures for the Second Term in 2006.
According to TUIK, production in mining sector increased by 9.5 percent, construction industry increased by 9.4 percent, and electric, gas and water sectors increased by 9 percent.
In the same term last year, production increased by 16.8 percent in mining, 2.2 percent in the construction industry and 7.5 percent in the electric, gas and water sectors.
