A lineup of international film figures is set to attend the 43rd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, according to the Antalya Culture and Arts Foundation (AKSAV). The southern Türkiye city will welcome guests from 16 to 23 September 2006.
Among the expected attendees are director Taylor Hackford, known for "Ray" and "The Devil's Advocate"; Emmy-winning actress Helen Mirren; and director John Irvin of "Robin Hood."
Several European talents are also on the guest list, including Polish director Adam Guzinski, actress Mylene Jampanoi and actor Milind Soman from "The Valley of Flowers," Irish actor Padraic Delaney, and German actress Sandra Hueller.
The festival, the longest-running film event in Türkiye at 43 years, moved to international status last year through a partnership between AKSAV and TURSAK (Turkish Foundation of Cinema and Audiovisual Culture). Competitions will span feature films, short films, and documentaries.
Two additional cinema events will run alongside the festival: the 2006 International Eurasia Film Festival (16-23 September) and the Eurasia Film Market (17-20 September).
