ANKARA - Construction costs of buildings which get approval certificates from municipalities, rose 16 p.c. to 415.6 YTL per sq.m., in the first half of this year over the same period of last year, stated Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). (One dollar equals 1.47 YTL).
Construction costs per square meter --except land--, were 358.2 YTL in the first half of 2005. Costs rose to 415.6 YTL at the end of first half of 2006.
52,721 constructions were started in the first half of 2006 with a total value of 23.4 billion YTL, and 26,314 buildings were completed and are ready for settlement up to now. Total value of them was 8.6 billion YTL, according to TUIK`s data.
