4 BLN USD INVESTED IN TURKEY AFTER FLUCTUATIONS
Turkish State Minister Ali Babacan told Hurriyet that after the fluctuations in foreign exchange market, 3-4 billion USD of foreign investments were made in Turkey. He added that the inflation rates would probably remain at single digits.
ANNAN IN ANKARA TODAY
UN Secretary General Kofi Annan will arrive in Ankara today. Turkish parliament will debate the decree on deployment of Turkish soldiers to Lebanon today as well.

It has become certain that Mustafa Erdal, who killed the imam (prayer leader) at Fatih Ismail Aga Mosque in Istanbul, was lynched. However, members of the religious community who lynched Erdal are wandering around.
OFFENSIVE WORDS
A citizen told Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in western city of Balikesir, "we do not want to see funeral of martyrs any more." People reacted to the response of the Prime Minister who said, "military is not somewhere to sit and unwind."

GENOCIDE REPORT FROM EP
The report which was adopted at European Parliament (EP) includes for the first time expressions on genocide of Pontus and Syrian. Turkey's Permanent Representative to EU Volkan Bozkir said, "the report harms relations."
MILITARY SERVICE NOT A PLACE TO RELAX
That is the response which was given by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to a citizen who said, "we don't want to see martyr funerals any more." Erdogan later in the day explained his words as, "this is a response to those who exploit our martyrs. Military service has risks. It is not a touristic place."

Policeman Selami Tugrul who was martyred in eastern city of Van had a wife and one-year-old son Furkan. People thought about the question while looking at Furkan during the funeral: How can we explain decree (on Lebanon) to Furkan and many other children of martyrs who will grow up without their fathers?

While the whole Turkey is crying for their martyrs, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan responded to a citizen's cry: my dear friend, military is not somewhere to rest.

The decree on dispatching troops to Lebanon will be debated today. Opposition parties, non-governmental organizations and majority of the people expect a decision that will suit 'honor' of the parliament.

According to the report which was approved at EP, Turkey's recognition of so-called Armenian genocide is put forward as a pre-condition for EU membership. The report also includes expressions of 'Pontus and Syrian genocide'.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan replied: "military service is not a place to rest" upon the reaction of a citizen who said, "we don't want martyr funerals any more". He tried to explain his words later in the day... He said he replied those who exploit martyrs.
DECREE ON DEBATE
Parliament will debate the decree on deployment of Turkish soldiers to Lebanon today. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan chaired a Justice & Development Party (AKP) meeting and said, "we don't want a surprise. The decree should be approved."

Government's decree on dispatching troops to Lebanon will be debated at parliament at 3.00 p.m. Absolute majority votes will be enough to adopt the decree.
TOUR OF USA
Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen and a group of businessmen will begin a tour of the United States on September 10th. Tuzmen said that trade volume with the United States will rise to 15 billion USD within three years. He said, "our new target is the United States."
