Suicide Attack Staged In Front Of Turkish Embassy In Baghdad, Injuring Two

BAGHDAD - A suicide attack was staged on Tuesday in front of Turkish Embassy in Baghdad, injuring two personnel of the embassy.

Embassy officials said that an explosion occurred near the embassy building and stated that no one died in the explosion but two employees were injured.

Officials said that the explosion caused financial damage in the building and stated that windows of the building were shattered.

Personnel who were injured in the explosion were given medical treatment. Iraqi police and American soldiers took tight security measures around the building.

ANKARA HARSHLY CONDEMNS ATTACK ON TURKISH EMBASSY IN BAGHDAD

Ankara harshly condemned on Tuesday suicide attack on Turkish Embassy in Baghdad.

Diplomatic sources said that two Iraqi policemen were injured in the attack while embassy personnel were in good condition.

The sources said that windows of embassy building were shattered but did not report a very serious damage.

The suicide bomber was found dead in the car he was driving immediately after the explosion, the sources noted.

The sources said that the suicide bomber had not yet been identified.

U.S. forces sealed off the area and did not permit anybody to approach to the building, the sources stated.

The sources pointed out that the attack indicated how grave the atmosphere of security in Iraq was.

Everybody should take action as soon as possible in order to contribute to settlement of security in Iraq, the sources added.
