ISTANBUL - Bomb scare on a Turkish Airlines (THY) plane on a domestic flight from southeastern city of Diyarbakir to Istanbul was a false alarm.
Boeing 737-800 type "Zonguldak" airplane that took off from Diyarbakir with 142 passengers at 01:45 p.m. landed at Istanbul`s Ataturk Airport at 03:45 p.m. Turkish local time.
After the passengers were evacuated and all luggage and cargo were discharged, the police searched the airplane and the cargo with sniffer dogs. During the search no bomb was found.
Police officers said the threat was addressed to THY but that they did not know who was responsible for it.
Investigation continues.
