BALIKESIR - "If we are requested to disarm any group in Lebanon, we immediately withdraw our soldiers," Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters on Monday.
Noting that UN peace-keeping force is sending troops in Lebanon to restore peace, Erdogan said that Turkey would not be part of a force, which will undertake a mission other than peace keeping.
Erdogan said that Turkey would do its best as regards reconstruction of roads, hospitals and/or energy power plants in Lebanon.
He affirmed that deployment of Turkish soldiers in Lebanon is a humanitarian and historical responsibility.
