Türkiye Eyes 50% Trade Growth with US in Three-Year Push

Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen is leading a large business delegation to the United States from 10 to 16 September, with the goal of significantly expanding bilateral commerce.

Tuzmen told the Anatolian Agency that Türkiye aims to grow its trade with the US from $10 billion to $15 billion over the next three years.

To support that target, the Turkish Foreign Trade Undersecretariat identified six priority states, namely New York, Illinois, Florida, California, Georgia, and Texas. Those states handle roughly 60 percent of total US foreign trade and account for about 70 percent of existing trade between Türkiye and the US.

Key export sectors targeted under the strategy include textiles, ready-made clothing, automotive products and components, electronics, jewelry, and foodstuffs. The delegation plans to meet with US business representatives in Illinois, New York, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.
