SEMDINLI/ISTANBUL/TARSUS - Turkish gendarmerie forces have confiscated 30 kilograms of heroin in an extensive search of a small truck in southeastern city of Hakkari`s Semdinli town on Sunday. The driver of the truck has been taken into custody and will face court trial after being questioned.
In a joint operation conducted by the Edirne police and Istanbul police, policemen found 33 kilograms of heroin hidden in a truck. Three drug dealers have been arrested.
Meanwhile, gendarmerie officers, acting on a tip-off, have confiscated 14 kilograms of hashish and detained a person in southern city of Mersin`s Tarsus town on Sunday.
