TRABZON - Turkey obtained an income worth of 146 million 112 thousand U.S. dollars through hazelnut export on the sixth week of export season.
According to figures of Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association, Turkey gained 146 million 112 thousand dollars by exporting 42 thousand 527 tones of hazelnut on the sixth week of 2003-2004 season that started on September 1.
Turkey exported 35.587 tones of hazelnut to the European Union (EU) countries, 4.130 tones of hazelnut to other European countries, 877 tones of hazelnut to overseas countries and 931 tones of hazelnut to other countries.
In the same period of the previous season, Turkey had exported 73 thousand 498 tons of hazelnut and obtained an income of 167 million 237 thousand 871 U.S. dollars.
