ANKARA - Turkish first division club Trabzonspor has sacked Brazilian coach Sebastiao Lazaroni after a run of disappointing results.
Trabzonspor, based in the northeast of Turkey, finished fourth in the Turkish championship last season behind Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas, and will this year compete in the UEFA Cup.
The club is currently lying 11th in the championship on four points after four matches and vice-president Yusuf Simsek said it was with mutual consent that the contract with Lazaroni, who coached Brazil in 1990 and Jamaica in 2004, was broken.
