LONDON - One British soldier was killed and five others were seriously injured by a landmine in Afghanistan Wednesday, the Ministry of Defence in London said.
An MoD spokeswoman told AFP the incident happened in northern Helmand province in southern Afghanistan at 12:20 pm (0750 GMT). A sixth soldier was less seriously injured.
The death brings to 38 the number of British military dead in Afghanistan since 2001.
