ANKARA - Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that the new target of the government was to decrease the inflation to one digits at the end of the year 2004.

Addressing the First Regular Congress of his party, Prime Minister Erdogan said that the nation trusted the AK Party. ''Due to the resolved, strong and dynamic economic policy, Turkey saved itself from debt problem,'' he said.

Erdogan stressed that Turkey would have an inflation figure of 20 percent this year, adding that the government's new target was to reach one-digit figures in inflation at the end of the year 2004.
