ISTANBUL - Production in Turkish automobile sector increased by 55 percent in the period between January-September 2003.
Total exports increased by 46 percent to 255,152, while sales of automobiles in the nine months increased by 119 percent to 119,183.
Totally 468,381 automobiles were produced in the year 2000, which was a very good year in production. If the trend continues in the remaining months of this year, a historic record will be broken.
According to the data of Automobile Industry Association, the increase in production stemmed from the partial revival in demand of domestic market and the continuation of exports.
