JUSTICE MINISTERS CALL FOR MORE INFLUENTIAL FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM
SOFIA - Justice Minister Cemil Cicek said on Friday that the 25th European Justice Ministers meeting was extremely positive in respect of expressing the determination of Council of Europe member countries in fight against terrorism.
Cicek represented Turkey at the 25th European Justice Ministers meeting.
A final statement which was issued after the meeting said all countries should be in more effective cooperation in fight against terrorism, stating that a consensus of opinion was reached for preparation of an international agreement in fight against terrorism.
The statement also said human rights should not be disregarded in fight against terrorism, stressing that terrorism was a universal danger going beyond national borders.
Justice Minister Cicek is expected to return to Turkey on Friday evening.
