ANKARA - Turkish State Minister and Chief Negotiator for EU talks Ali Babacan discussed bilateral trade and economic relations and EU matters with Croatian dignitaries in Zagreb.
According to sources, Babacan met the Croatian Foreign Minister, Finance Minister, Economy Minister, Croatia's Chief Negotiator for EU talks and Chairman of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce during his stay in Zagreb.
Babacan informed Croatian officials that Turkey's membership in the European Union will contribute greatly to the EU.
"Turkey's EU membership will be prominent, especially in bringing civilizations close to each other," said Babacan.
Meanwhile, Croatia's FM Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic remarked that cooperation between Turkey and Croatia is essential in the EU accession process.
"There will be times when cooperation will be necessary during EU negotiations. Mutual sharing of experiences will make the negotiations process easier for our nations," noted Kitarovic.
