ANKARA - The government submitted the memorandum about dispatch of Turkish troops to the United Nations peace-keeping force to be deployed in Lebanon, to the Parliament Speaker's Office on Friday.
In its memorandum, the government asked the parliament to allow it to contribute troops to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
The memorandum envisages dispatching adequate troops to the naval force to patrol in the eastern Mediterranean, providing friendly and allied countries with the support of sea and air transport, and training the Lebanese army.
