ANKARA - Turkish gendarmery captured 323 illegal migrants in northwestern city of Edirne, central city of Konya, southeastern city of Hakkari, eastern city of Van, southern city of Mersin and Aegean city of Aydin.
The illegal migrants were of Georgian, Tunisian, Iraqi, Iranian, Palestinian, Somalian, Pakistani, Chinese, Mauritanian, Bangladeshi, Bulgarian, Afghan and Syrian origin.
158 of the illegal migrants wanted to sneak into Greece from Edirne, while 22 of them were planning to enter Italy illegally.
They will be deported once legal proceedings are completed.
