KAS - "This festival (the 9th International Likya-Kas Culture & Arts Festival), organized by Kas and Meis municipalities, is enhancing friendship and ties between the two nations (Turkish and Greek)," said Mayor Pavlos Panigiris of Greek island of Meis.
In a press conference held for the beginning of the festival in Kas- Antalya, Panigiris indicated, "with Kas Mayor and people, we are sending a message to the central governments of the two countries. Such activities are showing the eagerness of the two peoples to improve their friendship and cooperation."
Within the framework of the festival that will last for three days, Turkish and Greek folk dancers will perform shows, and singers will give concerts. Turkish and Greek sportsmen will dive in Uluburun, while "Mediterranean cuisine Meis-Kas regional food" competition will be held. Also, swimming and canoeing competitions will take place on the Greek island of Meis on the last day of the festival.
