ISTANBUL - "The Turkish people love e-trading and got used to purchasing on the internet," said Sertac Ozinal, General Manager of the Interbank Card Center (BKM), today.
In the first six months of 2006, Turkish consumers purchased goods on the internet worth 957,680,000 YTL. This number shows a 70 percent increase in the volume of trade compared to the same term in 2005.
Turkish sources expect the total number of transactions on the internet in Turkey to be 21.2 million by the end of 2006. "Total sales in 2006 will add up to 3.1 billion YTL."
