LEFKOSA - TRNC State Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Democrat Party (DP) leader Serdar Denktas said on Friday that the political parties which he called as ''Annalist'' and which defended Annan plan, failed in the plan.
Noting that those parties understood the fact that they would not be able to win the elections by defending Annan plan, Serdar Denktas said that the opposition changed its tactics, it took discussing Annan plan out of agenda and they tried to bring onto agenda different problems in the country.
Speaking in a news conference, Serdar Denktas said that the strikes held in TRNC for the last three days had to be regarded within that framework. Denktas stressed that the leaders of trade unions which went on strike were candidates to become parliamentarians from opposition parties.
Calling on the opposition parties, Serdar Denktas said that ''are they ready to sign Annan plan in its existing form or did they give up their view?'' Serdar Denktas said that the opposition had to clearly respond to this question.
Serdar Denktas later left for Turkey to attend two meetings in Ankara and northern Zonguldak province.
