JUSTICE MINISTER CICEK:''TERRORISM SHOULD NOT BE USED AS A POLITICAL INSTRUMENT''
SOFIA - Justice Minister Cemil Cicek said on Thursday that all countries had to be in cooperation in fight with terrorism, adding that ''terrorism should not be used as a political instrument.''
The 25th European Justice Ministers meeting started in Sofia, Bulgaria the same day. Cicek who attends the meeting, which will end on Friday, said that the main theme of the meeting was ''determination of the measures that needed to be taken in field of justice to fight with international terrorism.'' Cicek said that fight with terrorism could only be successful if all countries acted in cooperation.
Speaking to A.A correspondent, Cicek said that terrorism was a very serious problem which threatened not only one country, but the whole world. Cicek stated that the contradiction in concepts of 'political criminal' and 'terrorist' sometimes constituted an impediment in fight with international terrorism.
Recalling that although the U.S. took KADEK in its list of terrorist organizations, European countries didn't take the necessary step about it, Cicek said that ''all European countries should take KADEK to its list of terrorist organizations. We take the necessary initiatives about it.''
Evaluating the relations between Turkey and Bulgaria, Cicek said that ''we are in a productive cooperation with Bulgaria, I believe that it will further improve.''
