KORFEZ - Bulgarian President Georgi Purvanov and Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan opened on Thursday Prista Oil mineral oil factory, which is the first Bulgarian capital company in Turkey, in Korfez town of northwestern Kocaeli province.
Purvanov said that economic cooperation between Turkey and Bulgaria would further improve and noted that the trade volume between the two countries was about 1 billion U.S. dollars.
Stating that they did not consider sufficient the trade volume between the two countries, Purvanov said that this investment took place as a result of mutual good relations.
Unakitan said in his part that foreign trade volume between the two countries was not sufficient and stated that potential was more.
''We are calling Bulgarian businessmen to make investments in Turkey. We will make every kind of facilities for them. If businessmen of the two countries pay mutual visits and investments are made, it means that relations between the two countries are good,'' Unakitan said and noted that he believed that relations between the two countries would further improve.
Unakitan said that they were opening the first Bulgarian capital company in Turkey and stated that there were many Turkish businessmen in Bulgaria. He said that they wanted to see more Bulgarian businessmen in Turkey.
Unakitan added that after Kapikule border gate, a second border gate would be opened between Turkey and Bulgaria soon.
