SAITAMA - Turkey rallied with a 20-9 run in overtime to beat Lithuania 95-84 here Thursday in the consolation playoff round to help decide fifth through eighth place at the World Basketball Championship.
Ermal Kurtoglu scored a game-high 24 points for Turkey while Darius Songaila, a forward with the National Basketball Association Chicago Bulls, led Lithuania with 17 points.
On Saturday, Turkey will meet the winner of a later game between France and Germany to decide fifth place. Lithuania will play the France-Germany loser on Sunday for seventh place.
