JERUSALEM - Two Israeli soldiers were lightly wounded on Wednesday when a military bulldozer operating along the Jewish state's border with Lebanon was hit by an explosive device, the army said.
"Two soldiers were lightly wounded when a D-9 hit an explosive device planted near the Nurit outpost," an army spokeswoman told AFP.
The armoured bulldozer was searching for explosive devices planted by the Hezbollah militia in areas on the Lebanese side of the border, she said.
The Israeli army engineering corps has been demolishing Hezbollah posts and weapons in a two kilometre-wide (one mile) strip along the border ever since the start of the Lebanese war on July 12, which ended on August 14 under a UN-brokered ceasefire.
